Real estate developer Iulius Group, controlled by Iasi-based businessman Iulian Dascalu, has rented out almost half the Iulius Mall shopping centre in Suceava, which will open in the autumn of this year, to hypermarket chain Auchan and to the DIY retailer Bricostore. Auchan will cover 10,500 square metres, while Bricostore will open a 10,100 square-metre store, with the overall lettable area standing at 45,000 square metres, according to company information. The project, which entails a 100 million-euro investment, will consist of around 150 stores, and is the fourth Iulius Mall project on the market, after the ones opened in Iasi in 2002, Timisoara (2005) and Cluj-Napoca (2007). The Cluj-based Iulius Mall also features Auchan as an anchor store (a 14,000 square-metre hypermarket.) This year, another two projects will be delivered onto the Suceava market, namely Galleria Suceava and Shopping City Suceava, with the three shopping centres to bring 100,000 square metres of commercial space onto the Suceava market.
