Bacau-based paper packaging producer Barleta forecasts turnover worth 6.3 million euros this year, up 26% against last year. "The increase in business is primarily supported by an increase in exports, and this year we will export 20% more than last year, after we managed to attract new partners from Spain and Sweden," said Florin Adrian Dimofte, strategy and development manager of Barleta. He also said exports from the UK have increased, particularly for packaging destined to the pharmaceutical industry. Barleta exports to over 10 countries in the European Union and beyond, and has clients in France, Belgium, Holland, Austria, Bulgaria, the UK and Moldova. "Our products have tapped into the external markets, whilst exports account for 45% of our total output," he added. Investments budgeted for this year amount to 1.8 million euros and target the acquisition of new equipment.
