10.05.2010, 23:11 20

Tax relaxation, extending the period over which temps are hired, exempting companies that create new jobs from payment of socialsecurity contributions (CAS) for a certain period, hiring theunemployed, usage of EU funds, and resumption of lending are themain steps that could see employment rebound, say businesspeopleand human resource specialists.
A simplified tax system and the granting of incentives to privatesector employers could attract new foreign investments becauseRomania needs an attractive tax system at a time when the pressureof personnel spending is felt both by the private sector and by thepublic sector. The state should encourage any kind of work, notjust full-time jobs with fixed-term employment contracts.
"Temporary jobs, flexible jobs, part time jobs, project-based jobs, personnel leasing are very much appreciated in western economies, where they account for a large share of all jobs, while here inRomania, despite being regulated, such jobs are not sufficientlyencouraged," says Sorin Faur, regional HR coordinator of BDOBalkans, who oversees human resource operations of the audit andconsulting firm in seven countries.
