Comvex Constanta harbour operator in the first four months of this year derived net profit worth 1.84 million euros, over 30% higher than the value reported at the level of the entire 2004. "This year''s improved figures followed investments made in equipment, meant to boost efficiency and ships'' unloading speed, but were also due to the reorganisation of handling activities. We have also benefited from a higher volume of transported commodities, while handling tariffs registered moderate growth", stated Viorel Panait, chairman of the company. For this year, Comvex plans investments of around 12 million euros, aiming for an unloading speed of 65.000 tonnes daily, 44% higher than at present, as well as 30% higher operating capacity.
