E.ON takes first steps on wind project market: three farms worth nearly 200m euros

E.ON Regenerabile Romania, based in Iaşi and held by Germanutility group E.ON, has three wind farms under development, with anoverall installed capacity of over 100 MW, whose completion wouldrequire 180-200 million euros in investments if the company decidesto use new equipment.


According to data from Transelectrica (the national powertransmission company), all three farms are located in Vaslui,Moldova. In fact, even the website of E.ON Regenerabile Romaniaspecifies that the company focuses on capitalising on Moldova'spotential to generate wind power.
E.ON did not wish to comment on the information by the time thisissue was ready for print.
According to Transelectrica data, at the beginning of August, theGerman company had secured the permits to connect to the grid forthree wind farms, with a capacity of 30, 46, and 36 MWrespectively, all three farms being located in Vaslui areas. The30-MW farm is set to be located in the Fălciu-Berezeni communesarea, the 46-MW one in Roşieşti, and the 36-MW one inVetrişoara.
