Freight transport company Alin Trans Impex, a member of the Edy Group, one of the top three Romanian-held players on the local transportation market, has acquired 350 Volvo trucks in a transaction estimated to exceed 28 million euros. "Alin Trans Impex has acquired 350 Volvo FH trucks to be issued over a period of time. The transaction was conducted through Volvo Romania, the representative of Volvo Trucks on the local market," Irina Marcov, marketing manager of Volvo Trucks Romania told ZF. The average price for a truck with regular equipment ranges between 79,000 - 81,000 euros, therefore the acquisition of 350 trucks cost around 28 million euros, according to ZF estimates. The two companies' representatives did not wish to provide any information regarding the exact value of the contract. Acquisitions made by the Edy group managed to account for over a third of the total number of Volvo trucks sold last year on the local market. A total of 959 high tonnage Volvo trucks were sold last year on the local market, an increase of 44.2% on the previous year.
