Ford Transit orders drive Styria's turnover up 30%

23.03.2007, 20:20 17

Styria Arcuri (Styria Springs), a company specialised in the production of components for the automotive industry, estimates a 30% turnover increase for this year, to 24.6 million euros, from an 18.8 million-euro turnover last year, 15% higher than in 2005. Styria sold 10,355 tonnes of products last year, although it had a production of only 9,924 tonnes, with the difference being accounted for by stocks accumulated since 2005. This year, the company aims to increase sales to 13,521 tonnes, which will cover the production set for 2007. "The increase in turnover and in sales is prompted by the newly completed contracts, especially in the 2006-2007 period, due to the orders for rear axle springs for Ford Transit vehicles," stated Knut Schrewe, general manager of Styria Arcuri and president of the Styria group. "The production increase, in tonnes, is directly connected with the bigger sales and the bigger turnover," added Knut Schrewe.
