19.05.2005, 20:06 14

After reporting first-quarter sales of 18 million euros, German group HeidelbergCement expects its full-year turnover in Romania to reach 170 million euros, compared with 156 million euros in 2004. "Our growth in 2005 cannot be higher than 5 or 6% in euros. We made an 18 million euro turnover in the first quarter, which is slightly more than for the same period in 2004," said Mihai Rohan, the general manger of Carpatcement Holding, on Tuesday. He said the group would be investing 15.5 million euros in Romania this year, after having invested 20 million euros in 2004. Most of the funds will be spent on upgrades for its cement factories and environmental measures. HeidelbergCement has been present in Romania since 1998 with operations on the cement, concrete and aggregates segments of the market through its companies Carpatcement Holding, Carpat Beton and Carpat Agregate.
