Lindab: Sales will stagnate at 2007 level

08.02.2009, 17:01 6

Lindab Romania, the local branch of Swedish group Lindab, which manufactures roof systems and sheet metal products, expects its 2008 turnover to be approximately equal to that recorded in 2007, i.e. 46.7 million euros, while in 2009 it intends to consolidate its business and post equal sales to last year's. "Final, audited figures for 2008 have yet to be officially announced. But we can safely say they are similar with those recorded in 2007. For 2009, we expect to maintain our 2008 turnover, but we do not rule out a small decline. This year's strategy entails a focus on efficiency and on productivity," said Andrei Sulyok, general manager of Lindab Romania. In 2007, the company posted a 46.7 million-euro turnover, up 23% on the previous year. The main factors behind the stagnation of Lindab Romania's turnover were the price increase for raw materials, the shrinking of the residential sector of the real estate market and, last but not least, the financial crisis, which makes it harder to access financing.
