Personnel shortage boosts Adecco's business to 24m euros

14.03.2007, 18:42 8

Swiss group Adecco, the biggest worldwide provider of human resource services, estimates it will witness turnover in excess of 24 million euros on the Romanian market this year (up 70% against 2005), through Adecco Romania, Adecco Human Resources and Adecco IT. Adecco also estimates its gross profit will increase by some 90%, to 1.33 million euros. "For 2007, we estimate soaring demand on the market, which mainly stems from the increasing need for specialised personnel. Given that there is significant migration to the other EU states, whereas the education system does not meet the demands of the workforce market, and demographic conditions are characterised by a low birth rate and an ageing population, the need for experts will reach new highs," Cristina Radulescu, country manager of Adecco Romania told ZF. Linked with the growing level of foreign investment, this trend will lead to growing need for specialised services in the field of human resources. "This trend will be maintained in the next two years, until significant wage raises occur, which will then see Romania being able to retain its workforce," adds Radulescu. In 2006, the Adecco business on the Romanian market reached 14.2 million euros (Adecco Romania - 5 million euros, Adecco Human Resources - 7 million euros, and Adecco IT - 2.2 million euros). Adecco Human Resources had the most dynamic growth, with its business increasing by almost 80% in euros last year.
