Producers working under contract move to real estate sector

The drop in the profitability of manufacturing under contract made the Oradea-based producer Maxim move part of its activity toward the real estate sector. The company has decided to rent 2,500 square metres of the assets it owns to other firms, and, in addition to that, will invest over 1.5 million euros by next year in building a four-star hotel in the central area of the city. "Work under contract is gradually disappearing and we are forced to move to other activities, as well. The hotel we will complete next year will be designed for the business sector and will have a capacity of 39 rooms, a pool, a restaurant and spa facilities. We have also decided to rent half of the halls we own, since we only conduct our operations in two halls at the moment, following a drop in orders," Gheorghe Maxim, general manager of the company told ZF Transilvania. He says that when work under contract will no longer bring any profit, the company intends to sell all the assets it owns.
