Reinert Romania, the company in which Germany's charcuterieproducer Reinert has invested over 15m euros, the group's biggestinvestment outside Germany, is far from hitting the businesstargets it set when it started producing domestically three yearsago: 10m-euro turnover and presence among the five biggest domesticcharcuterie producers by late 2009. According to research by MEMRBcompany, Reinert in 2009 did not reach the top of the five biggestproducers along the best-selling product categories domestically, salami, sausages and frankfurters. Also, though the company'srepresentatives did not disclose the company's 2009 turnover, thisis unlikely to have doubled during last year, from 4.8m euros in2008 in the context where the entire market declined. Despite theseresults, Reinert representatives maintain they do not plan to giveup the Romanian subsidiary and will further develop Romanianoperations. "Reinert's Romanian figures are getting better eachmonth. The Romanian company's management is confident Reinert'spositive development in Romania will continue," stated Hans-EwaldReinert, managing partner of Reinert Romania.
