Samus Mex sees 20% decline

07.12.2004, 00:00 13

Furniture producer Samus Mex Dej, part of the Mobexpert Group, recorded around 3.5 million euros in turnover for the first nine months of the year, down some 20% on last year due to weak sales on export markets. The company ended the January-September period with over 100,000 euros in losses, after having posted a 40,000-euro profit for the first six months. "The results are due to the recession on the export markets, especially in France, where we sell 80% of our exports on average," said Mihai Gadea, Samus Mex's chief executive. The third quarter financials are lower than anticipated in the 2004 S&R budget and lower than the results for the first half of the year, the company's report shows. The weaker results were largely due to the weaker sales caused by the fact that the sales curve is at its lowest at this time of the year, the report explains. ZF
