Representatives of Porsche Romania, importer of the Porsche, Seat, Skoda, Audi and Volkswagen brands, stated that Audi's sales this year would increase by 27%, to 2,200 units, up from 1,727 units in 2006. According to the statistics of the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA), the Audi brand had 319 customers in the fist two months of the year, a 55% increase against the same period last year. The growth prospects are based on the growth potential of the premium brands, which, according to Porsche Romania representatives, will also have a noticeable impact on the sales volume of the Porsche brand, estimated at 130 units, 60% of which will be for the Cayenne model. The year 2007 will also see the opening of 5 new showrooms. The representatives of Porsche Romania expect the Audi showroom in Timisoara and the luxury brand showroom in Pipera, Bucharest (the latter is an about 12 million euro investment, excluding the value of the land), to become operational by the end of the year.
