The stock of recently finalised yet unsold apartments reached3,700 at the end of the first half of the year, up 48% against theend of last year, according to a survey of the Bucharest marketconducted by real estate consultancy Colliers.

"Demand has not kept up with the volume of deliveries in thelast 18-24 months," - this is the reason for which increasinglymore new apartments are left unoccupied. One of the residential complexes that has finalised apartments thisyear and put them up for sale is Ten Blocks in Militaridistrict.
"In February we put 130 apartments up for sale, with 40 of themstill empty. They are mainly quite large three-room apartments. Thetwo-room ones did sell, although their price was above the limit ofthe First Home scheme," says Andra Turtoi, sales manager of the TenBlocks project.
