Florin Andronescu, the entrepreneur whose name has been linked to the development and sale of companies such as Flanco and Credisson, is now involved in three other businesses.
Sanador, a network of private clinics, will enter a new phase of development this year and open a hospital. The second business is Sanas, the private health insurance broker, in which Andronescu pumped 200,000 euros, whilst the most recent investment, worth 100,000 euros, was directed at credit broker Kiwi Finance.
Andronescu's contract with Cetelem (which took over Credisson in 2005) to run the company for another three years ended last month and has not been extended. "I was asked to remain on the board, but it did not happen. I am not the sort of person who comes by from time to time to see how the business is doing," says Andronescu adding that he is now focusing on Sanador.
Sanador is a network of private clinics set up in 2001, and run by the businessman's wife, Doris Andronescu.
"We will bring new people to Sanador. We will set up a board of directors and we are preparing a model that any strategic investor who wants to buy can understand. There is a lot of pressure, both from financial investors and from strategic ones, who are considering entering the Romanian market, but we have not accepted any of the requests," says the businessman.
He has had three concrete offers; although a final decision has yet to be made, but he is most likely continue on his own. There has been a due diligence simulation, "so that if we decide to accept one of the offers, the sale should go through more quickly," he adds.
In the meantime, Andronescu is in negotiations with banks to attract funding worth over 12 million euros for a hospital, on which construction is scheduled to start this winter.
"This is a rather rare concept even abroad - a boutique hospital, a high-end facility, that offers high-quality services," says Andronescu adding that it will specialise in fields such as cardiovascular surgery and neurosurgery.
