Pastry producer Fornetti, the biggest franchise network in Romania, estimates a 26.5 million-euro turnover this year, up by around 16% against 2006, considering its plans for 2007 include the expansion of the chain by another 200 stores. "Last year saw the opening of 150 Fornetti stores, which puts the network at a total 520 outlets currently," stated Moln?r R?ka, the financial manager of Fornetti Romania. The company posted a 22.9 million-euro turnover last year, 24% higher than the 2005 level, while the profit is estimated at approximately 3.6 million euros. Fornetti stores sold approximately 15,700 tonnes of pastry products in 2006, up 22% against the previous year. Fornetti Romania, based in Timisoara, was set up in 2001, through a partnership with Fornetti Kft. from Hungary.
