J'Info Tours, one of the main tour operators on the Romanian market plans to invest in hotels, Aurel Pavel, the company's chairman said. "We have already made two hotel sector-related investments. We invested 700,000 euros in a conference centre by the Snagov Lake and opened an aparthotel last year in Bucharest, which did well. We are considering creating a hotel chain in the long run, that is about five years," Pavel specified. This year's investment programme amounted to 800,000 euros, 700,000 euros of which were spent for the inauguration of the conference centre in Snagov and 45,000 euros on a new corporate building in Timisoara. J'Info Tours expects turnover to be worth 12 million euros this year compared with the 9.5 million euros in 2003, with almost of half of it derived from plane ticket sales. "This year, about 18,300 foreign tourists came to Romania through J'Info Tours and about 34,900 Romanians travelled abroad. Business travel was the most dynamic segment, going up 35%. The incoming and outgoing business rose some 20-28%," Pavel added. ZF
