Romanian company Powertek, sole distributor in Romania of construction equipment produced by American brand Terex, say they intend to post a 30 million-euro turnover this year, almost four times higher than the 8.5 million-euros posted last year. "Since 2004 we have managed to triple our turnover each year. I think this trend will continue this year and in 2008," Andrei Necula, general manager and sole shareholder of Powertek, told ZF. According to information provided by Necula, in the first four months of this year, the company has already reached the level of turnover it derived in 2006. The growth rate has been prompted by the increasingly higher demand for products, which has been stimulated by the growth of the constructions sector, as well as by the expansion of local branches. "The demand for construction equipment worldwide has exceeded expectations. We are also feeling this trend," said Necula. One of the big problems encountered when having to deal with a high increase in demand, is meeting delivery deadlines. The frequency that stock is replaced at is very high, especially with smaller equipment. This can result in the financial risk of not having the necessary stock available.
