Eckerle Romania, a producer of electro-mechanical components for the automotive industry and a subsidiary of the German Eckerle Gruppe, will take over new groups of products and their assembly lines from a Hungarian production facility this year, which until recently produced electro-mechanical components for electric car engines. Last year Eckerle Romania made another similar move and added another two products to its portfolio, which again were manufactured in Hungary. "In 2003, we transferred the first three types of products and their production lines from the group's plant in Hungary. We will continue to adopt this policy in the future in a bid to cut costs; new alternative products will be found for the Hungarian plant," Miriam Arp, general manager of Eckerle Romania, told ZF TRANSILVANIA. The company estimates to spend somewhere in the region of 350,000 euros in investments this year in order to expand its production capacities and in development of the range of automation machinery. Production of automation equipment was started in September 2005 and posted a 500,000-euro turnover last year.
