Electrolux Romania, the local branch of the Swedish home appliances maker, has announced sales of 1,200bn ROL (more than 32 million euros) for the first quarter of this year, up from 1,100bn ROL (over 27 million euros) in the same quarter last year. By comparison, staff levels at the Electrolux factory in Satu Mare rose to about 1,600, compared with 1,500 in the corresponding period of 2004. Turnover at Electrolux Romania last year reached 125 million euros. Electrolux became the principal shareholder in the Satu Mare-based company Samus SA in 1997. It now owns 99%. ZF
