Grawe beats expectations

30.01.2004, 00:00 17

Life insurer Grawe Romania expects underwritten premiums to be worth 180bn ROL this year, up 60% from December 2003, when they totalled 113.71bn ROL, company manager Peter Kasyk said. "The gross volume of underwritten premiums increased 2.46 times in 2003 from 2002, which is obviously encouraging, as the result slightly exceeded even our most optimistic early-year estimates," Kasyk says. Kasyk estimates the life insurance market will be similar to last year's, except for the credit insurance segment, which is expected to post smaller growth because of the prudential regulations imposed by the National Bank of Romania.
