Metalica Oradea, a manufacturer of cookers, has posted 12.9 million RON (3.52 million euros) in first-half turnover, an increase of 6% on the same time last year. The growth in turnover was primarily due to the increase in sales of pressed components, with both output and sales for cookers falling compared with the first half of 2004. Metalica made net profits of 1.3 million RON, 4.9% more than its 1.2 million RON profits for the equivalent period last year. The main reasons for the improved results were this year''s investments and the company''s implementation of a permanent cost control programme, the company report shows. Metalica Oradea reported operating income of 1.53 million RON, 16.7% lower than for the same time last year. ZF
