The Mobexpert Group, leader of the Romanian furniture market, expects to post sales worth 30 million euros on the Bulgarian market in the next few years, after the opening of several large stores. "On the Bulgarian market, we intend to open three hypermarkets. In terms of sales, I believe we can reach 30 million euros," stated Dan Sucu, chairman of the Mobexpert group. The group is close to completing a 6 million-euro investment in its first hypermarket outside Romania, which will be located in Sofia. The store is scheduled to open in the third quarter of this year. Mobexpert is therefore conducting its biggest investment in furniture retail outside Romania. The investment in Sofia is part of a more extensive plan where the company could possibly have 25 hypermarkets in the region by 2011, 5 of which will be outside Romania. Total investments are estimated at a few tens of millions of euros. "We found that in terms of furniture our Bulgarian clients have the same tastes, styles and preferences as Romanians. The market is at the same level of development and the revenues are similar," said Dan Sucu, president of Mobexpert.
