Polish firm takes 51% in Scop Computers for 5m euros

The majority stake in Scop Computers, former leader of the localIT&C distribution market, was taken over by the ABC Data group,the biggest IT&C distributor in Poland. The transaction wasworth 5 million euros, and the two parties agreed that the Polishside would become the sole owner in a few years' time, so thatRomanian founders - Alexandru Vişan and Dragoş Stan - could collecta different amount, i.e. up to 1.675 million euros, depending onthe net profit derived by Scop in 2010.
This is the second transaction sealed with a Polish group, afterselling Net Consulting integrator to Asseco in 2007.
According to data from the Finance Ministry, Scop Computers posted81.5 million euros in turnover last year, down from 117.1 millioneuros in 2008. The company derived a 1.4 million-euro profit andhad 24.8 million euros in overall debt at the end of December 2009.The company was leader of the local IT&C market after thedecline of Tornado Sistems, and lost the no. 1 position to thedistribution division of the Asesoft group, controlled by SebastianGhiţă and Iulian Stanciu.
