Quasar sees 22m-euro turnover, following real estate boom

21.06.2007, 18:06 6

Quasar Industries, a producer of PVC and aluminium door and window systems, estimates it will post a 22.7 million-euro turnover this year, up 30% against 2006, when the Hunedoara-based company saw sales worth around 17.5 million euros. "This year's turnover increase is largely because of the growth of the Romanian real estate market, also combined with a heightened desire for comfort and aided by a drop in interest rates for real estate credits," the commercial manager of Quasar Industries, Doru Besleaga, told ZF Transilvania. In 2006, the company invested over 1.1 million euros for acquiring equipment, with a view to increasing the production of PVC and aluminium trim, in purchasing new vehicles to expand the company's car fleet, and in acquiring IT equipment and other programmes for the streamlining of production. "The construction of new buildings, the renovation and modernisation of homes and of retail space have generated an unprecedented rise in the number of orders for PVC and aluminium trim systems. As a result, there are many operators and the competition remains tight on our market," added the representative of Quasar Industries.
