Rating upgrade from Eximbank and OECD

29.01.2004, 00:00 11

Eximbank - US and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) have upgraded Romania's rating from 5 to 4, Jonathan Marks, the US Embassy commercial attaché in Bucharest on Tuesday said. "As a result of this upgrade, the exposure taxes are significantly lower, as are the financing costs (i.e. those for taking out certain loans)," Marks specified. He added part of the companies in Romania, such as energy carrier Transelectrica, would this way be able to get credits without needing governmental guarantees, based on their reputation and financial situation.
