Tess Conex, a producer of car subassemblies and parts intends to reach a business of 19.5 million euros this year, an increase of 5% on the 18.5 million euros derived last year. In 2006, the activity of the Iasi-based producer saw a 17% decline, from a turnover of 22.5 million euros in 2005. During the same period, the company's profit fell by around 2 million euros, from 3.54 million euros, to 1.41 million euros in 2006. Tess Conex is part of the Conex Iasi group of firms, which are entirely Romanian-held. The Conex Group consists of eight companies and is involved in the production, transport and distribution of equipment, car parts and subassemblies for the car industry. The company posted a cumulated turnover exceeding 90 million euros, with Tess Conex division accounting for 27.5% of the total. The product portfolio of Tex Conex includes a wide range of products, such as bodies for domestic cars and exhaust systems for Romanian and foreign cars, and products used in industrial construction and industrial equipment. Company representatives stated that at present, Automobile Dacia is in the process of certifying automotive components produced by Tess Conex for the Logan model.
