Tnuva appoints Israeli of Romanian origin as CEO

16.06.2008, 18:06 11

Shmulik Porre is the new chairman and CEO of Tnuva Romania, the local branch of Israeli dairy producer, which started local operations last year. Tnuva Romania has been led by Yoram Israeli since 2004, who now holds a similar position with an IT company in Israel. "This is a natural change. Yoram Israeli has completed his task as initiator of this project, and now Shmulik Porre has taken over at the helm of the company," said Sagit Tzur Lahav, marketing vice-president of Tnuva Romania. Porre, 53, an Israeli born in Haifa, with parents of Romanian origin, has over 20 years' experience in FMCG, with Israel's largest dye producer, Tambour. His last position in this company was as executive manager. Tnuva started an over 55 million-euro investment programme on the local market 4 years ago, to build a dairy plant and a farm in Popesti Leordeni, near Bucharest, with the project being 35% funded from EBRD funds.
