Ranking of MBA programmes on Romanian market

ZF today publishes the fourth edition of the ranking of MBA andExecutive MBA programmes on the Romanian market in its supplementdistributed free of charge with the paper.

The fourth edition of the "Top MBA" ranking - the only suchranking in Romania - centralises opinions of the latest graduatesof each business school and ranks schools by level of satisfactionof the graduates of the programme.

The highest-rated MBA programme this year is the one offered byUS-based Tiffin University at the Bucharest University, followedclosely by ASEBUSS's EMBA programme and by the one offered byAustria's WU Executive Academy.

Of last year's 322 graduates of local MBA and EMBA programmes,290 answered ZF's online questionnaire and evaluated theprogrammes, which means the questionnaire was filled in by 90% ofthe graduates. The questionnaire had 22 questions, 13 of which wereused for putting together the final ranking.

Nearly 4,000 Romanian managers pursued an MBA programme on theRomanian market. Physicians and engineers pursued MBA programmes tolearn how to become better managers. Those who pursue MBAs paythousands and even tens of thousands of euros to develop leadershipabilities and be able to theoretically structure what they havelearned from practical experience.

Internationally, the rankings of MBA and EMBA programmes puttogether by prestigious publications such as the Financial Times orThe Economist are eagerly followed by managers who want to join anexecutive education programme, and are often a criterion forselecting a business school.

The latest graduates of each school that has participated in the"Top MBA" rated the programmes based on the following criteria:networking, job applicability, quality of the teaching, quality ofthe courses, teaching expertise, development of management andpersonal abilities, and the international component. The graduatesalso said in the questionnaire whether they had changed their jobduring the MBA or after graduating from it, if they were promotedas a result or started a business of their own. The poll ranbetween March 15th and March 31st of 2011.
