Celco forks out10m euros for lime plant

14.11.2005, 18:03 10

Celco Constanta, a producer of concrete parts for constructions, has launched greenfield investments worth 10 million euros, and is to integrate the production process by building a lime plant, after having changed the entire technological system last year. "The most important short-term investment project is the construction of a lime plant in Constanta. We have already signed contracts with the main equipment suppliers, namely companies from Switzerland and Italy, and we hope to start production at the end of next year at the latest," said Niculae Dusu, chairman and the main shareholder of the company. In the first phase, the new plant will produce 200 tonnes of lime per day and, at full capacity, it may produce as much as 400 tonnes of lime daily. "This is a modular development. At the beginning, we will install an oven with a capacity of 200 tonnes daily and, depending on our necessities, we will have a second oven installed, doubling the production capacity," said Niculae Dusu. Celco thus intends to secure stable supplies of raw material needed for the production of ACC. "This is a long-term investment we''ve primarily started in order to secure high-quality lime for our ACC plant," Dusu explained. ZF
