Selgros Cash & Carry invests 15 million euros in Iasi

Retail network Selgros Cash & Carry has invested some 15 million euros in a new store, located in Iasi, which is to be opened today, putting the total number of network stores at 15. After the February opening of a store in Suceava, the company's expansion process will continue with a similar project in Gala]i, an approximately 15 million-euro investment. Selgros Cash & Carry Romania posted a turnover of around 611 million-euro last year, up 34% against 2005. German company Selgros Cash & Carry entered the market in 2001 and plans to develop into a 20-store network. Investments conducted so far exceed 200 million euros. Selgros Cash & Carry stores have a 10,000-square metre sales area and over 37,000 items available for sale. The main customer categories targeted are hotels, restaurants and retail stores.
