A&D Pharma contemplates listing on the BSE

10.11.2006, 19:27 7

Pharmaceutical company A&D Pharma, which comprises distributor Mediplus and the Sensiblu drugstore chain, is considering listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange in the next few years, having recently completed a similar operation on the London Stock Exchange. "We have always taken this possibility into consideration, yet actually seeing it through depends on the liquidity of the Stock Exchange in Romania," said Vivian Diaconescu, general manager of Mediplus, national leader of the pharmaceutical distribution market. He specified Romanian investors had also voiced an interest in the company, but that no final decision had been made regarding this matter. The company's majority shareholder, investment fund Sograno, raised 120 million euros by selling 30% of the company's shares in an initial public offering conducted on the London capital market. The sum it received is the largest ever raised on the London Stock Exchange by a company with operations in Romania.
