02.10.2007, 18:55 5

Cosmote Romania, the domestic branch of the Greek mobile telephony operator Cosmote, has announced cuts in roaming charges in the member states of the European Union, as of September 30. The price of a phone call made to an EU destination will be 0.49 euros per minute, while calls received will cost 0.24 euros per minute excluding VAT. The operator announced the charge cuts on July 30, with Cosmote clients having two months at their disposal to opt for the new roaming fees. The users who have not made an option will be automatically transferred to the new call plans, which offer them reduced fees within the EU member countries. According to the new norms adopted by the European Commission, in the first year, the maximum charge for making a phone call abroad will stand at 49 eurocents per minute, while the price for a received call will stand at 24 eurocents per minute.
