Electrical engine and high voltage equipment maker Electroputere Craiova has managed to move into the black at end of the third quarter this year, after having spent almost three years in the red. The company at the end of September posted 1.5bn ROL net profit compared to the 5.3bn ROL loss three months before and the 68bn ROL loss for the first three quarters last year. Its nine-month turnover amounted to 1,351bn ROL ($40 million), up over 100% from the same time last year, when sales totalled 614bn ROL. "We are trying to conclude the year with 1,800bn ROL turnover, as set in the S&R budget and to match the productive capacity of our four facilities with orders for the first quarter, which means 600bn ROL in contracts," Cornel Mondea, Electroputere manager said. He added the company was trying to tap into the American market with electrical engines made in Craiova. ZF
