Garanta, the Greek-Romanian insurance-reinsurance company recorded gross underwritten premiums worth 32.5 billion ROL (898,000 euros) in Q1, 2003, up 62% in ROL as compared to the year-ago period. The gross premiums cashed by Garanta were worth 26,5 billion ROL (around 732,000 euros), with general insurance accounting for most of the company's portfolio. Garanta estimates a 35% growth of the volume of underwritten premiums for 2003, compared to 2002, when this index amounted to 101.3 billion ROL (almost 3 million euros). ZF
