Florin Gavrilă, an investor lured by the high Bourse returnsever since the early days of the market, is shattering the mythaccording to which the bourse is a means of making money fromspeculation, in an interview with ZF in the "Bourse investors"series.

At the age of 43, Gavrilă has managed to amass a fortune of350,000 euros from Bourse investments, after having entered themarket in late 1998 with 10,000 dollars, and says that when themarket peaked, in the summer of 2007, he held a portfolio valued at1.2m euros.

He benefited from SIF's spikes after 2000, when yields incertain years got beyond even 100%.

"In my opinion, making money from speculation is just a story. You may catch a period in your life when you're very lucky, but onthe long term this is not an option. In the 13 years I've beenmaking investments, I've learnt the bourse is governed by greed andfear, the main factors that are moving it. I've also learnt a goodcompany will be good irrespective of the economic picture and thatI must not speculate," says Florin Gavrilă.
